Praising Buttler for his impressive form this season, former India spinner Piyush Chawla claimed that few players have scored as many runs in an entire season as the English cricketer in the middle order.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen and former India all-rounder Piyush Chawla were at a loss for words when they tried to describe Jos Buttler’s brilliance in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Buttler scored almost 500 runs in IPL 2022 in just 7 matches. The Rajasthan Royals opener also hit three hundreds and will look to set his sights on becoming the first cricketer to score a hat-trick of hundreds in the IPL when RR take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday.
“We are only halfway through the tournament and he has scored 490 runs. Generally people score so many runs in the whole season. He is batting very well this season,” Chawla said on Star Sports Cricket Live.
Praising Buttler for beating Delhi Capitals and his impact on the most exciting IPL season, former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen claimed that such outstanding performances have raised the standards of the tournament.
“We’re running out of adjectives and superlatives. He’s doing great stuff like that. I wish I could say that all the time you just have to know what, he takes time and capital letters,” she told Star Sports’ Cricket Live.

Praising Buttler for his consistent good performances in this IPL, Pietersen said he expects more performances from the England swashbuckler as he is in good form.
“Jos did an unbelievable job against Delhi Capitals (in the previous game). I’m sure he will continue to do that because when you’re in this kind of tournament, you just bat and bat and bat, especially when the wickets are good. So I don’t expect him to change the way he plays,” he said.

Jos Buttler Smashes 89 From 56 Balls In Ipl
Jos Buttler set the Indian Ocean on fire with a century in IPL 2022. The league, given a shaky start by Brendon McCullum (now head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders) scoring a stunning 158 not out against Royal Challengers Bangalore, has come a long way since its pioneering start fifteen years ago. Some famous sports names have dominated the league and Buttler is on the verge of joining this elite group of game-changing batsmen and bowlers.
After moving to the Jaipur franchise Rajasthan Royals, which cost almost half the price of the famous franchises (Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore) owned by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and Vijay Mallya’s United Spirits Limited around 15 years ago, the 31-year-old from England lost interest in England. The Man Singh Stadium has been closed for the past three years, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally considered a miracle to score a hundred in a 120-ball game, Buttler cut down the size of bowlers – fast bowlers, seamers and spinners alike – from Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium, Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium Cricket Club of India and Delhi Capitals at the sweltering Wankharinge Stadium in April. Buttler scored 100 off 68 balls (11 off 4, 5 x 6) against Mumbai’s five-time winner Rohit Sharma, 103 off 61 balls (9 x 5, 5 x 6) against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders and 116 off 65 balls against Delhi (9 x 66 balls).
In all, Buttler competed for 491 off 304 balls in seven matches. The Royals won all three games and positioned themselves for a playoff spot, winning five of the seven they played. It would be an understatement to say that Butter has improved his nick this IPL season; his figures of 35, 100, 70 not out, 13, 54, 103 and 116 exemplify his contribution to the team’s scoring and the extent to which he maximized his potential in the first 6-over powerplay and extends his form in the middle and late overs. He played a conventional shot and a notebook, hit the ball hard and long any length and modified innovative shots that find a way in the arc between third man and fine leg.
Jos Buttler Slowed Down Towards The End But Still Brought Up The First Century Of Ipl 2022
A dismal appearance with the bat in the last Ashes in Australia (when England lost 0-4) and a finger injury (which saw him out of action in the last Test in Hobart, Tasmania) saw him left out by the British selectors for the tour of the West Indies. As a result, Rajasthan Royals – who retained him ahead of the mega auction in Bengaluru – benefited from his availability for IPL-15 right from the build-up stage.
Buttler is known for carrying out the white-ball massacre and playing for the Royals for the fifth season (since 2018) – he played for Mumbai Indians in 2016 and 2017 – the Englishman lit the fire for a bright start to the team’s campaign in the league played at four beautiful venues in the state of Puharashtra in the state of Puharashtra and in Pumbaiharashtra (mumbai).
Buttler got a chance to bat in 24 innings for Mumbai (ten as an opener, at No. 4 five times, at No. 5 eight times and at No. 6 once. He scored 527 innings in two seasons at 25.10, not a happy average. He scored at an average of 8.76 for Mumbai.
His run flow from the bat started to improve when he was picked by the Jaipur franchise whose key man was Shane Warne. He has opened the innings for the Royals on 38 of 45 occasions and at No. 3 five times, and his expertise against the new ball is evident. Scored 1899 runs as opener (for MI and RR) and four centuries in last eight innings (all for RR); he had finished last season with 124 against Sunrisers at the Kotla in New Delhi. He didn’t know in the second phase of IPL-14 which ended in UAE.
Ipl 2020: Tried To Come Out With Some Intensity In My Batting, Says Jos Buttler
In excellent form over the last month, Buttler is all set to surpass his best of 548 in 13 matches of the 2018 season. He has certainly been prolific for the Royals; He hit .311 in eight games in 2018, .328 in 12 games in 2019, .254 in seven games in 2021. His league average is 38.74 and his strikeout rate is 8.99, and as a starter his average is 46-plus, making him a top five player.
This season, Buttler has overcome the challenges and aggression of expert ball carriers new and old like Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians, Daniel Sams, Dushmantha Chameera and Lucknow Super Giants and Jason Holder, Mohammed Siraj and Harsrathal and Harsrathal Royal Challenger Harsrathal. Umesh Yadav, Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy of Knight Riders and Mustafizur Rehman and Kuldeep Yadav of Delhi Capitals. He was bold, brave and confident and the results were incredible for the team led by the young Indian Sanju Samson who himself played some good knocks at no.
Buttler scored a century at each of the three venues in Mumbai; and clearly his 116 against Delhi at the Wankhede, after being beaten a couple of times by left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed in the first over, will get a better mark. He hit nine fours and as many sixes. He hit 32 x 6 and 41 x 4 that season, which is around 44
